We need to be reminded again and again, that our warfare is not against human beings, but against the evil spirits in heavenlies. (Eph. 6:12)

The Lord Jesus has already fought and won the battle.  The work of the church on earth is to simply maintain the Lord's victory.  Thus, the warfare between the church and Satan is a battle between us who love the Lord and who are in His church and the evil powers in the heavenlies.

It may seem as though it is people of flesh and blood who damage the church.  The reality is that it is Satan and his evil angels working behind them who cause the damage. Therefore, we must fight against these negative spiritual forces.

We fight by enjoyment. We must live by the Spirit everyday. Calling on the Lord. Through Christ's death on the cross, God destroyed Satan and his power of darkness. That is why Satan does not clearly show himself.  He works his power by casting doubts and distractions into our daily living, keeping us from enjoying Christ.
